Terms of Service

Last updated: 23 March 2026

1. About InspectIQ

InspectIQ (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides a technology-assisted property defect analysis service for property owners in the United Kingdom. By using our service, you agree to these Terms of Service.

2. Service Description

InspectIQ allows you to upload photographs of your property. Our analysis system examines these images to identify visible defects, estimate severity, and generate a detailed inspection report. We offer two report types:

  • Full Property Report — a comprehensive analysis of multiple issue areas across your property.
  • Single Defect Analysis — a focused analysis of one specific defect or area of concern.

3. Important Limitations

This is a technology-assisted property assessment, not a chartered survey. It helps property owners understand visible defects, prioritise repairs, and make informed decisions.

This report has been generated using automated image analysis technology provided by InspectIQ. It is intended for informational purposes only and does not constitute a professional building survey, structural assessment, or chartered surveyor’s report. The analysis is based solely on the images and information provided and may not identify all defects or issues present at the property. For comprehensive and legally binding assessments, always consult a qualified RICS-registered surveyor or appropriate building professional. InspectIQ accepts no liability for decisions made based on this report.

In particular:

  • InspectIQ is not a substitute for a full RICS Building Survey or HomeBuyer Report.
  • Automated analysis is limited to visible defects in the photographs you provide.
  • Hidden defects or structural issues behind walls, floors, or ceilings may exist but cannot be detected from photographs alone.
  • Always engage a qualified professional before making purchasing or renovation decisions.

4. HHSRS References

Where our reports reference the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS), these references are indicative flags based on defect type and severity. They do not constitute a formal HHSRS assessment. A formal HHSRS assessment requires a physical inspection by a qualified Environmental Health Officer. Property owners should seek advice from their local authority Environmental Health team if they have concerns about housing hazards.

5. Your Responsibilities

When using InspectIQ, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, clear photographs of the property areas you wish to have analysed.
  • Answer any questionnaire prompts honestly and to the best of your knowledge.
  • Only upload photographs of properties you own or have permission to inspect.
  • Not use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable regulations.
  • Keep your account credentials secure and not share them with third parties.

6. Account Registration

To use InspectIQ, you must create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.

7. Pricing and Payment

All prices are displayed in pounds sterling (GBP) and include VAT where applicable. Current pricing:

  • Full Property Report: £39.99
  • Single Defect Analysis: £6.99

Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store or have access to your card details. By making a payment, you authorise Stripe to charge the specified amount.

We reserve the right to change our pricing at any time. Price changes will not affect reports you have already purchased.

8. Refund Policy

If our analysis system fails to produce a report due to a technical error, a full refund will be issued. We do not offer refunds for reports that have been successfully generated and delivered, as the analysis has been completed and the report delivered at that point.

If you believe your report is inaccurate, please contact us at hello@inspectiq.uk and we will review your case.

9. Contractor Matching (Optional)

InspectIQ offers an optional contractor matching service. If you choose to participate, your contact details (name, email, phone, and postcode area) will be shared with relevant local contractors to provide repair quotes. Your full property address is not shared with contractors until you accept a quote.

InspectIQ does not guarantee the quality, reliability, or pricing of any contractor. Any agreement you enter into with a contractor is solely between you and that contractor. InspectIQ acts only as an introducer and accepts no liability for work carried out by third-party contractors.

10. Intellectual Property

The photographs you upload remain your property. By uploading them, you grant InspectIQ a limited licence to process them through our analysis system for the purpose of generating your report.

The report format, templates, branding, and underlying analysis methodology are the intellectual property of InspectIQ. Generated reports are licensed to the purchasing user for personal use. You may share your report with professionals (surveyors, contractors, estate agents) for the purpose of property maintenance or transactions, but you may not resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the reports.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, InspectIQ’s total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to the service shall not exceed the fee you paid for the specific report giving rise to the claim.

InspectIQ shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or property value, whether based on warranty, contract, tort, or any other legal theory.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by English law.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless InspectIQ from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the service, your violation of these terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

13. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms or engage in fraudulent or abusive behaviour. Upon termination, your right to access the service will cease immediately. Previously generated reports may be retained for a reasonable period to comply with legal obligations.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of InspectIQ shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

15. Dispute Resolution

If you have a dispute with InspectIQ, we encourage you to contact us first at hello@inspectiq.uk so we can attempt to resolve it informally. If we cannot reach a resolution within 30 days, either party may pursue formal legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by displaying a notice within the service. Continued use of InspectIQ after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

17. Anonymised Data

When you use InspectIQ, the analysis results and defect data generated from your submissions may be retained in anonymised form (with all personal and property-identifying information removed) to improve our service and contribute to property defect research. This anonymised data cannot be linked back to you or your property. By using InspectIQ, you agree to this use of anonymised data.

18. Privacy

Your personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using InspectIQ, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.
